Heiko van der Scherm is an all around creative; be it as an animatic director, cg modeller, dop or director and writer, Heiko is not tied to just one technique but has a diverse repertoire ranging from cg to traditional stop motion and live-action film.

Heiko studied animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. during his studies he discovered his passion for working with actors and developed his skills in writing for the screen and life-action directing. after having worked on several stop motion films, he realized his first life-action feature film 'Sommertag' (2004) which he wrote, directed and produced. he graduated with his cg animation film 'Descendants' (starring Whoopi Goldberg and Christy Scott Cashman) which, amongst others won the Animago award 2008 for best character and participated in festivals like LA-Shorts, Rhode Island filmfestival and Telluride.
He worked as a director and animatic artist for the NATO and Daimler as well as a feature film script doctor for famous chinese director Zheng Zhong and various US production companies.

Heiko van der Scherm is a proud member of the M.A.R.K.13 family and is looking forward to bring his sense for storytelling and developing ideas to your projects as either cg based animatic director with cg modelling and virtual dop skills as well as a feature and short-film director and writer.
