Kompost was formed in 2004 by like-minded creatives Oliver Conrad and Gian Klainguti in New York. driven by a passion for strong concepts, innovative art and design and good storytelling, they soon realised various successful projects for clients like Conde Nast Traveller, SonyBMG, SF1, Emtec, New Era just to name a few. their award winning short films and commercials have been featured at international festivals in London, LA, NYC, Paris, Melbourne, Zurich only to mention a couple. In 2007 the swiss directing duo (and skiing/ fly-fishing enthusiasts) returned to their home turf and are now based eight out of twelve months a year in St. Moritz.

the Kompost approach is simple… and effective: first a good concept, the rest develops organically. their multi-disciplinairy approach which combines 3d, live action, digital and traditional animation as well illustration allows for artistic expression beyond the limitations of any one technique.

in 2009 Kompost won the 48h 3D Jam organised by M.A.R.K.13 at the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film. now we join forces to bring this directing duo’s creativity and artistry to your projects. out-of-the ordinairy, sophisticated, well-thought-out and not for the faint-hearted – that is Kompost.
